Street View UK is live

After 3 months waiting since launch of New Zealand street view, Google Maps finally  have released Street View in the UK and the Netherlands.

A number of major cities in the UK seem to have Street View.

Google Street View starts capturing in Taiwan, HongKong and Macau

Google表示其已于今年12月开始在中国台湾、中国香港与中国澳门等三地展开街景地图拍摄.

已经有人在澳门发现了Google Street View的拍摄车，虽然这是一辆本田车,而 Google Street View 的拍摄车多为雪佛兰,但可以清晰的看到前面的车门上贴有 Google Street View 的贴纸.车顶的摄像装置也很像 Google Street View 拍摄车的摄像设备.

Google's Street View comes to Trade Me

Smaps was offically closed down by TradeMe yesterday and replaced it with Google Maps. Trademe is pretty fast to enhance the Google Maps's new feature street view released in New Zealand today.

The switch lets users of TradeMe Property and its travel accommodation site Travelbug make the most of Google's new Street View programme. Street View is a unique Google Maps feature that allows users of the online software to view 360-degree photographs of the surroundings from a street level. The incorporation of Google's Street View should definitely make house or holiday hunting easier.

Street View New Zealand is live

After a month when Google Maps launched Italy and Spain street view, New Zealand became the 6th country has street view outside the USA.New Zealanders now can look at their homes and streets on Google's controversial Street View software from today.

The 7 countries have street views so far are USA, France , Japan , Australia , Spain , Italy and New Zealand.  I personally guess Germany will be the next country.

Street View Italy is Live

Google Maps Street View was rolled out for Spain on Monday, and now Thursday(New Zealand local time) it’s live for Italy too. It is quick, Cities are available to enjoy so far are: Milan, Florence, Rome and Lake Como.

相约欧洲2009

这两天我正计划去明年的欧洲蜜月之旅，谷歌地图频道推出了西班牙街景地图服务。忍不住就先浏览了一下，西班牙建筑家安東尼·高第的两大著名建筑神圣家族教堂，米拉之家。半年之后我将身临其境，巴塞罗那明年见。

谷歌地图在7月份推出了法国街景地图，昨天推出了西班牙，相信在明年5月之前相继会有英国，德国，意大利，荷兰等国家。到时就能够在出发前一览各国风景，等到了欧洲能有一种实体的震撼！

Street View Spain is Live

After launching Street View in the US, Australia, Japan and France, Google will expand the coverage to Spain ( Street View pictures for Spain) for the cities Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla. The Google Operating System Blog says next countries will be Italy, Germany, UK and the Netherlands, after Google launched Australia street view in early August, I thought New Zealand would be the next country. Obviously, I am a bad predictor, just need a little bit more patience.......

The French blog Zorgloob estimates that Google's cameras take 8 simultaneous photos every 5 meters and each compressed photo has about 1 MB. That means each kilometer adds 1.6 GB of data.

Street View Australia is Live

Today, Google launched its first street view outside US - Australia, accessed from http://maps.google.com.au/help/maps/streetview/, lets people explore the country at ground level for the first time with little more than a computer and an internet connection.


Google will launch a New Zealand edition of its controversial Street View application within the next few months after agreeing to protect the identity of people filmed in public places, following talks with the privacy commissioner.

Evidences from various sources shown that Google’s Street View army is marching in many major New Zealand cities, including capital city Wellington. In one case, the driver of the Google Street View was kind enough to let this guy take close-up pictures of the car - even the equipments inside the car.

Street View Japan is Live

I just noticed that Google launched Australia street view and Japan street view at the same time.

Japan Street view includes a number of major cities including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, among others across the country.

Street View France is Live

Google Maps Street View is available outside of the USA for the first time. With the Tour de France due to start on Saturday Google have added Street View imagery to the race route.

The coverage is limited to the route and in some places to a small area around the race route. However Google will extend it in the next few months, when Street View will be available in many other European countries.
