2009 Stuff.co.nz Stats In Review
Today is my first day back to work, it’s an interesting time to look back on how www.stuff.co.nz has progressed, I’ve continued this by listing some similar stats for comparison during the last 12 months:

Stuff overtakes Herald in domestic traffic
Exciting news, Stuff beat the NZH in domestic traffic – unique browsers and page impressions – for the month of July. Stuff.co.nz last beat the NZH in domestic UBs briefly in November 07 and May 07 for PIs

Domestic PIs - Stuff: 52.8m Herald: 51.6m
Domestic UBs – Stuff: 1.53m Herald: 1.52m
The stuff.co.nz home page boasted 126,956 average daily unique browsers for the month of July, compared with 120,980 for the nzherald.co.nz homepage, according to Nielson market intelligence.
Woooo hoooo! We are number 2 popular Kiwi website now!

Record traffic at Stuff.co.nz on the day Michael Jackson dead
AS I blogged Michael Jackson dead news collapse many American websites.
No doubt it was a big day for Stuff.co.nz too. The traffic activity began building up from 9am on Friday and hit its peak between 10:00am – 12:00pm on Friday where traffic levels were double that of normal levels. From Friday to Sunday (26/06/09 to 28/06/09), Michael Jackson related content pieces generated about 464,069 domestic impressions and 557,261 total impressions.
At the end of the day, the visits reached 767,112 visits far more ahead both US election day (604,661 visits) and NZ election day

Record Traffic Day At CNN.com on US election day 2008
CNN emails to tell TechCrunch they brought in 27 million unique visitors to their site on US election day yesterday, a record. Comscore says they averaged just 5 million unique daily visitors in September, so this is more than 5x normal traffic. The site also generated an astounding 276 million page views. An average day on CNN is about 35 million page views, according to Comscore worldwide stats.
These days, I have been busy implementing NZ election section for Fairfax Media's websites, which include www.stuff.co.nz and all the newspaper's websites such as The Dominion Post, The Press ...
The New Zealand election 2008 will take place on 8th November, between Labour's Helen Clark and National's John Key. What will the traffic jump for stuff.co.nz look like? I will see
